Aarti Vijay Gupta created a very fashionable and contemporary Black & White Fantasy called “I Love Ma Doodle Book”, at LFW-Winter/Festive 2012. Check out the video below for the patterns, colors and designs that she portrayed during the show. I love the way she has played with face sketches and figure blocks in her line with functional and crisp silhouettes.
Abhishek Dutta, a Fashion Designer from India is known to create garments with a difference. I like his innovative approach of using exceptional and unconventional fabrics with various ancient embroideries and futuristic cuts with focus on wearability and I think this is what makes him different from his contemporaries. His assembly of designer garments is available internationally and he has been a participant of Bali Fashion Week, Asia Fashion Week, Singapore Fashion Week, Wills India Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week.
For Summer/Resort 2011, Abhishek gave minimalism a stylish fashion variation at the Lakme Fashion Week with unconventional silhouettes that brought about on the spot interest. His collection called “The Kite Runner” featured on the runway showcased kaleidoscopic colors like canary yellow, tangerine orange and grape in combination with neutrals like ivory, beige and steel. The designer played with folds and created unusual hemlines, plackets and seams, keeping the craft of “Origami” as his inspiration. He also played with striking appliqués, laser cutouts, channel seams and screen prints for the surface ornamentation. For silhouettes, he designed comfortable trapeze lines, shifts, yoga pants, summer jackets and draped garments, etc.
Check out the pictures below for his collection on the runway of LFW.
Label ‘Abdul Halder’ is a known name in Pret and Couture lines, both domestically and internationally. In 2008, he became the only designer in the world, to show case in United Nation head quarters New York, his list of celebs includes Michael Jackson, Kathleen Kennedy, Tracy Feddric.
The runway of Lakme Fashion Week saw him presenting a fresh, chic and comfortable Summer/Resort 2011 collection, perfectly designed for the holiday season. Having a good eye for fabrics, he chose Lycra, Viscose Satin, Stretch Net and Metallic Embellishments to use in his collection under the theme called “Ode to Leisure”. Talking of colors, he chose to use rich and strong jewel tones like mustard, orange, burnt red, fuchsia, hot pink and yellow. The look was mainly designed as figure hugging ensembles, slinky dresses, trousers, jumpsuits, blouses meant for a well travelled woman and on the other side men’s wear was kept simple and cool.
I think the collection was perfectly universal and provided a practical wardrobe for both the genders across the world. Check out some of the pictures below for his silhouettes, patterns, colors and designs.
