Design Styles, Nidhi's Special

Design Cocktails

How about cooking a delicious treat for eyes by mixing patterns to create a design cocktail? Creating your very own style by mixing patterns, colors, designs and trends effortlessly can often be a challenge difficult to win, but with the below mentioned ideas, anyone can fulfil this delightful desire. Have a look!

Make the concept of décor move around at least one bold pattern. Then for the rest, create a balance by varying the scales of all other patterns. Personally, I like using 3 or 5 patterns together. If there are many prints that are creating a very busy look, mix in some solids to soften the look or blend similar patterns together.

Making things look and prove functional is certainly an important aspect of any décor. Include as many functional areas as possible and this would also generate more ideas to include color and patterns in a better fashion.

Do it like a style professional. Use more colors on big patterns or areas, less colors on medium patterns and definitely lesser colors on still smaller patterns. Secure your color scheme with one influential pattern and then use coordinating colors with highlighted accents. Don’t forget to work with the same range of color intensities. Here are some pictures to illustrate.
