Table Linen: Placemats/Napkins/Runners/Table Covers

We all love to dress our tables as much as we love to eat great food as it just multiples the aesthetics and comfort zone that we create for ourselves. In most homes, besides having the meals, dining is also a time when the entire family takes out time to sit together and discuss the happenings of the day.

For all those who love to decorate their place beautifully, dining area is just as important as the living room area. A smooth and classic ambiance with luxurious feel, complete with exquisite craftsmanship is what I look for when choosing a table linen set for my home. The best choice to make is to decide the right fabric. If the fabric is durable, wrinkle free, stain resistant, absorbent, soft and smooth to touch and of course lustrous, there cannot be a better choice that you can make!

Once you are sure of the quality, the next thing that we wish for is the right look of a product. With a plethora of colors and designs in table linen available everywhere to choose from, I think it gets too confusing unless you have already made up your mind about the look that you want for your dining table, which would also go well with the dining set and rest of the table décor.

For regular use, gingham checks are the best choice. They are simply timeless and gel with most ambiance. For a formal occasion, you could try Irish Linen or Egyptian Cotton in solid colors or some jacquard designs for that classic look. For semi-formal occasions, Organdy is a great choice as it comes with various surface ornamentation techniques used for patterning. You may also pick up some printed stuff to particularly define your style. The list is simply endless.

Below are the examples of some table linen that will give you an idea of what all choices are available in the market these days.
