Heimtextil 2011 – A Review

The time has come when people want to be startled and flooded with ideas and concepts that make them sit back and think of innovation, authenticity, values and harmony with nature. A requirement for the hand crafted products endorses this as much as the need to regulate their product consumption willingly.

January 12th – 15th 2011, Heimtextil in Frankfurt was just the right start to the business year 2011. The Reconnect trend directions by Heimtextil for 2011/2012 refer back to nature and roots in the trend named Sobriety, to culture, identity and tradition in the trend named Mix Mash. Real values and the art of craftsmanship was depicted through the trend called Utility and the need of the essential, functional and day to day reflected in the trend called Wilderness.

All four Reconnect trends showcased classic colors in a fresh new way. The color schemes are full of vigor and substance in combination with deep rooted culture, tradition, significance and need related aspects.

The flood of visitors during the four days long trade event was successful in creating an enticing atmosphere for both visitors and exhibitors to anticipate a successful time ahead all through 2011. Heimtextil was visited by 3% more trade visitors and 5% more exhibitors this year; moreover the quality of the trade fair has improved a great deal this year.

Creative products, sustainable homes and household textiles dominated the exhibition arena, and visitors showed immense interest in new developments/textile technology and the introduction of fashion labels with home textile brands.

Overall, it marked a perfect start for business in 2011. Hope this year we all see the business enterprises flourishing and quality of life improving.
